By The Cute And Girly - August

August already and I hope it's looking like a good one where you are.  We look set for a fine week here in the south and, with the 1st week of the school holidays having flown by, it's looking like a great summer.

It's my turn to set the challenge theme at By The Cute And Girly this month and I have chosen 'The Sea'.

I ended up setting myself a bit of a challenge as well.  I wanted to use a Sizzix Hello Kitty seaside die and got carried away deciding to cut the pieces from scraps of material and sew them on a bag with some ruffles for the sea.
I did iron it, honest, but ironing never was my strong point!! It was great fun to make, but took far longer than I had planned.  Being green and re-using scraps was a great idea but they frayed a lot, even after I had die cut the image in bondaweb to attach them with.
The felt sun was far easier to work with and, with the addition of some of Geraldine's lovely Little Snippets butterflies, the project was complete.
We have 3 fab sponsors this month:
Prize 1- $20 Gift Certificate from Simon Say's Stamp
Photobucket

Prize 2- £10 Gift Certificate from Joanna Sheen

Prize 3- 2 cling cushion rubber stamps OR 3 digital stamps from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps

There's loads of inspiration on the challenge blog this month with lovely projects from the design team regulars as well as 2 fabulous guest designers.  A big thank you to all the designers for embracing my theme and making such great projects.  Hop over to By The Cute And Girly to check them out and enter your 'Sea' projects in this month's challenge.

Oh that's so sweet! Love the ruffly sea. Hang it on a doorknob with a book or two in it - painless ironing!!

Love the bag, Kate. Great use of the snippets. My justification for buying dies (lots Of) is that they will be used to cut felt, fabric as well as paper.

Love the scene you have created with Hello Kitty Kate, have a couple of bags, been going to do great this with them but never seem to get off the ground with them. Thanks for a great challenge. Carolxx
