Tag You're It!

I have been very disappointed with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint today. I was making a tag for this week's theme at Tag You're It - 'Vintage Romance' and I wanted to highlight the movie star image. I coated it with the crackle stuff and all the distress ink on the image ran.
I would have hoped that the 2 products from the same company would have been compatible. I haven't had any success with this stuff yet. Is it giving anyone else problems?

So, I had to completely re-do my tag and this is what I came up with.
The main stamp is Paperartsy and the swirls are Kanban. The little butterfly is from a Technique Tuesday set. I'm also entering it for this week's Sunday Stamper challenge #103, where the theme is 'Red'.

I've started on a few more ATCs for the weekend. I've got this far.........
thinking it may need a bit more something, perhaps some doodles.

Ah, but less is more - the ATC looks beautiful - all light and floaty. No experience withthe crackle, but gahhhhh, can totally empathise with your anoyance.

hmmm that's interesting - I agree, you'd have thought they'd work together, wouldn't you? Anyway, I love the final tag, it's beautiful - and so is the ATC
A great tag Kate despite the processes undergone to get there. I love the image and your colour choices thanks so much for sharing with us at TYI hugs Pascale

Gorgeous both of them.. the thing with the DI's is that they aren't a permanent ink, so if you splash with water etc they will run - however, to overcome this, you could stamp the actual image with a StaZon or Archival ink and then do the Distress Inks around the image - the Rock Candy would bleed it slightly but the image would stay crisp. Anyhow's .. hope that helps hun AND ... thank you for joiningin with the Sunday Stamper.. loving the backgrounds on your tags.. FAB! Hugs Hels x

Good afternoon Kate, wow what gorgeous tags, I am loving them both. I am sorry your ink ran with the rock candy, but like Hels said it isn't a permanent ink, unfortunately they dont make this very clear at ranger! the tag is great still though hunny. Thank you for joining the Tag You're It challenge this week hugs Linda x

Drat!! I haven't tried using mine with a DI stamped image, only on die cuts edged with DI, and hand on heart, I was so disappointed with the effect I haven't used it since :o( It just didn't crackle 'properly' for me...

However, your tag is divine and though you had the unfortunate mishap with the crackle, it all came out good in the end - I love it! Your ATC is fab too! Keep 'em coming! :o) xx

Love this tag! Yes, I discovered you shouldn't put the crackle over distress ink, twill run terribly. Need to use permanent ink, like Hels said. But the second try turned out very well, you could use the runny one for another altered project!
