Candy winner!

Wow, thank you for all the entries into my candy draw. I've used the random number drawing thingy and hoped to have an image of the result here, but unfortunately I can't get it to show anything other than a blank generator ready to be used. So you will have to take me at my word that the number generated was 5, which by my count means that the winner is DEBS!

Debs said : Hey chick :-)...fabby card ...will link your candy on my side bar...thanks for the chance to win...Debs x

Congratulations Debs, can you drop me an e-mail with your details (the link is at the top of the side bar), and I will have this on its way to you:

The children go back to school on Friday (what a stupid day to start back!) So I will be gearing back up to my normal routine or at least that's what I hope to be doing. I've a mini Halloween candy to organise and will post details for it soon.

Autumn Tilda

I've managed to sneak some craft time into a lovely sunny holiday Monday and made an Autumn Tilda card.
I've used up an old image I had coloured goodness knows when and added some of the lovely new papers from the BoBunny Olivia range.
I've used a couple of Smirk buttons from an old DT kit and a spare leaf from my bead box to finish it off.
I'm entering the following challenges:

Magnolia Down Under #61 - 3 patterned papers, 2 buttons & 1 ribbon
Just Magnolia #70 - sketch
Oh Alice #28 - project for a little girl

Studio L3 - #11

No blogging for the last couple of days as I've been finishing some DT projects, it be almost September don't you know. Whilst I had some stamps out I thought they would be perfect to have a try at week #11 in the Tim Holtz Compendium of Curiosities challenge over at Studio L3. This week it's the Blended Batik technique which meant me getting up close and personal with a household appliance that I usually avoid like the plague. I think this is a quite widely known technique but the challenge says not to say how the effect is achieved, so for those who don't know it, I will have to leave you guessing.
I love these stamps but I will say no more about them until I blog my By The Cute And Girly projects on 1st September.
Other materials used are :
Distress inks
Hot Off The Press papers
X-cut border punch
Flowers from The Craft Garden
Heart charm from CraftsULove
Brads from a matchbox swap
Spare bit of Tim Holtz tape (I really NEED more of this!)

WOYWW - 64

It's desk sharing day and there's a new addition to my crafting storage.
Made from the inside of a box of tumblers to hold those little inky sticky things that I keep losing.

Yesterday was the last day of the Big Idea Festival and I have my last scrapbook page to share (although I have a few gaps in the classes I haven't completed yet, but then I have pages from Scrap-A-Mia I haven't completed yet.)
All of the prompts were 'I.....' and I chose to do quirkier pages rather than ones about my family, hence 'I love... my 1st cup of coffee of the day!'
The ruler is from a set of Cuttlebug embossing folders and means I can now adorn my crafts with as many rlers as I care to make! The teacher of our last class was May Flaum, one of my favorite inspirations and I combined a couple of ideas from her class on my page.
The supplies are mainly scraps of DCWV paper with a piece of K&Co paper. I'm not a quick scraper I usually spend days before I glue anything down but this page came together in under 2 hours including taking all the photos, printing them and making the kids tea.
As usual you can pop over here to see desks and projects a plenty. I think I managed to visit about 3 people last week, I'll have to see if I can do better this week.

Walking in a Winter Wonderland

That's the theme this week at the Winter Wonderland challenge blog. I've broken out the series 2 Patchwork pals Christmas stamps and the full details of the products I've used are over on my Patchwork Pals blog.

I'm also entering this one for Wild Orchid Crafts challenge #4 - make it sparkle and Moving Along With The Times #60 - glitter.

Have a look down my side bar for the link to The Daily Marker blog, they have new Penny Black stamps to give away.

Bird is the word

I've made a Tim inspired ATC today for this week's Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge.
I've distress inked some card and then stamped a musical notes background from a new Donna Salazar stamp, big cling mounted stamp, great value. I've added a We R Memory Keepers metal corner for the top of the bird house and recycled some of Tim's tape on the front of a glimmer misted panel.
The little bird is from the Inkadinkadoo set that I have been getting my monies worth out of lately and I've covered him with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint.

I've also added a few flowers (from an ancient set of stamps) dotted with glossy accents. I'm also entering this for Sunday Stamper challenge #117 under the flower theme.
The ATC's already spoken for, I hope the recipient doesn't mind getting a sneak preview.

A couple of pics of my blue eyed boys taken over the weekend.
No prizes for spotting my deliberate mistake in the previous blog post! I hate it when you manage to spell something wrong on a scrapbook page. The letters have been peeled off and corrected, doh!

I Lack.........

This is one of my scrapbook pages made this week for the Big Idea Festival using the 'I lack....' prompt.I've combined it with a sketch at My Little Shoebox. My supplies of theirs are very limited but I diverted a few pieces from an album I'm making so that I could enter the challenge.

All of the patterned papers, die cut frame, acetate and ribbon as from My Little Shoebox. The little cake stamp is from Papermania and the letters are Pink Paislee. I was very pleased to find I had some old Dovecraft brads that matched the colour exactly for me to use on top of the cupcake. The cupcake is made using ideas from a little tutorial I saw on May Flaum's blog a while ago.

Edited to add : so excited that one of my projects was featured on the Big Picture Scrapbooking blog here!

Studio L3

Here is the finished card from yesterday.
It's decorated with lots of Rock Candy Distress Stickles as my entry for Studio L3 challenge #10 from Compendium of Curiosities. I think joining in with this blog is going to be a great way of trying out all the techniques in the book.
The elements on the card use 2 ideas from this month's Craft Stamper Magazine. Leandra Franich's stamped background and Hels Sheridan's porcelain flower technique, although I don't have the melt pot she used and just slathered my flower with the stickles instead!
I'm also entering this card for:
Artistic Stamper Creative Team - Old and New (old stamps, new techniques).
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Studio 490 (which I have only just 'discovered' and I hope this fits the theme

Sir Tim of Holtz

Tis Wednesday and time to share workdesks. Mine in undoubtedly dominated by this.
I must be the last crafter on the planet to buy this. I'd been put off by the price and people commenting about how few pages it had. QVC offered their package containing it on instalments and I decided to go for it. I'm really please I did. I had hoped to complete my 1st project for today but I am still searching for the little bits I need to finish it off. Until then here is a peak.
Have a look at Julia's here, to see lots of other peoples work spaces.

Tag You're It!

This week's challenge at Tag You're It is no stamps allowed, eek!
I've used some Pink Paislee Queen Bee supplies and an off-cut of inked card.
I was struggling without my stamps and then I found some old, but still glittery, butterflies to save the day.

Photo Challenges #2

Sunday was much brighter and provided an all together different prospect for my second day of Shimelle's photo challenges.

This was how the 'Up Above' shot would have looked taken from my mum's garden.

Portrait or Candid? - Candid

Get In The Picture (composed by the Dinky Diva)

Below The Knee

Study Session

Smiles (up to no good!)
At Home (home grown)
Craft In Progress (or not, just piles of new supplies, waiting)
The holidays so far:
1 bag of flour eaten by a dog.
1 scolding hot bowl of past dropped on my bare foot.
1 hour dismantling a cot and rearranging a room to get it out.
2 hours putting it all back together as 'friend' changed her mind and didn't want it!
1 daughter with a split lip and several nose bleeds falling off the bunk beds.
2 birthday cakes at 2 birthday teas.
18 days to go until term starts.
1 very tired me!

Photo Challenges #1

2 posts in one day, now that's just not me is it!

I blogged earlier today about Shimelle's weekend of challenges and mentioned that 50% of them are for photos. Well I grabbed my cameras and trotted into the garden to see what I could find and a little photo story developed.

Get Close

Then the weather started to change and this baby started moving in.....

Up Above

On my way back in the door I spotted this very weathered window sill with some sort of pin in it.

Man Made
Once inside the heavens opened and a thunder storm soon followed.

Through The Glass

That just leaves me to......

Add A Laugh
Old photos were permitted for that one.

More tomorrow, hopefully.

I've been busy on the old pooter today with so many places to visit and things to look at.

I've completed some more work inspired by the Big Idea Festival.
This layout is a combination of a sketch and a challenge entry (which I completed too late cos I had me time zones in a muddle!)
All the patterned papers are Cosmo Cricket and the little handmade flowers are a design I learnt in Shimelle's class at Scrap-A-Mia. Talking of Shimelle she also has a cyber crop type event on this weekend with new projects/challenges being issued hourly, blimey! Every other hour she has a photo challenge and I am planning to have a bash at a few this weekend. You have until 6am (UK time) on 17th August to complete any entries (all new work), so I might manage to get a few snaps done.

Yesterday's class at Big Idea Festival was about photo tags in 3 different styles and here are mine.

ATCs and Schultute

Here are my ATCs for this month's swap at the Stamp Man, where the theme is Time.
There's a bit of a Lara Croft influence here, bear with me I'm not quite crazy, yet! I had Tomb Raider on BBC3 in the background recently (through desperation with the lack of other TV programmes). There's lots of clock and time references and I like the scene where she's searching for the entrance to the temple and there are lots of butterflies and Jasmine. So that's where the butterflies and clocks came from.
The clock stamps are Heidi Swapp stamps that come with separate hands so no need to mask them off, quite 'handy'.
The Schultute is my 1st project for the Big ideas Festival that I mentioned yesterday. It's a German tradition to leave gifts in a little cone hanging on the door, I think.
Mine's made from a K&Co paper kit which had all the tags, die-cuts and alphas in it as well.

WOYWW - week #62

It's WOYWW day and there has been some tidying, don't collapse with shock! Also a new addition to the work space.
Yes it is at a bit of a jaunty angle because the back of the unit is arched, but I've checked it for stability and it's not too bad. Haven't filled and labelled it all properly yet. I've stuffed things in it without thinking about whether I really use them or not, but at least it's progress. Before anyone comments that the rest of the desk is looking tidy, I had to clear quite a bit off before I could photograph the boxes at the back hee, hee.

Current projects...........
Some card with clocks ready to make ATCs for the Stamp Man's 'Time' swap and lots of Patchwork Pals ready to make up as Vikki said she was strugglining for ideas. If your still reading Vikki, let me know which set in particular is giving you trouble.

That's it for today so click over to Julia's poste haste to have a nosey at all the 100's of other WOYWW posts for today.
