WOYWW
Here's what's on my desk today. (If you want to find out more about WOYWW pop over to Julia's blog, have a look and join in).
This is an idea I got from a Fiskars site, to use up every last tiny scrap of paper or card. As soon as you have finished your project, take all the bits you are going to throw away (or preferably put in the recycling bin) and punch out as much as you can with small punch designs that you use frequently so that as little as possible is wasted.
For me it's butterflies in 3 sizes, little triangles for bunting, hearts, snowflakes for flower centres, leaves etc. Then straight away pop them into colour themed jars.
The reason they're on my workdesk is I found some lovely little jars at Sarah's Cards for 45p each and remembered this idea. (You could be even more thrifty and recycle some jars from home, but that would involve washing up and these mini jars are cute). Then next time you want a small shape you have loads to hand and you're not having to punch little corners out of your good paper! If you get the job done right away as you finish each project, it takes up no time at all. I hope that's a helpful idea to pass on?
I've also got a card to share today that I completed for a competition, it's not an online one so I think I can share it. I couldn't wait and use it later as it is specially for this week - Chinese New Year.
It's the year of the rabbit so Tilda is all dressed up with a little friend hiding behind her. Hopefully the text at the top says love, peace and happiness. I've even managed to sneak in a lucky number 8 disguised as some foliage.
