Tim Holtz Blueprints

There are some wonderful new designs in Tim's Range from Stampers Anonymous (designed by a relative of Mario's, I believe).  I couldn't wait to get my hands on some and have a lay.  It's great when one of the new products at CHA is ready and shipping straight away, it gives me something to play with whilst I wait for everything else!

For this little 'canvas' I started out with some old Papermania V&A papers which have more or less totally disappeared beneath Claudine Hellmuth Trad Tan paint.  I've used sequin waste to stipple on more colours in brown and blue.  I've then sprayed with Mr Huey in Spiced Pumpkin.  I found I got more control if I sprayed it onto the mat and then dipped the project into it; was really pleased with the effect.

There is a little MME stamp dotted around the background with the main Tim Holtz stamp onto tissue paper and then glued on.  It's been finished off with Faber Castell Pitt markers and a few DCWV rub-ons.

But, did you guess, it's not a mini canvas at all?  No, it's the bottom of a chocolate box (chocs are all gone, sorry!)

One of the reasons I chose the leaf stamps from the range is because I am starting a nature notes sketchbook/diary, in a kind of Smash style, but using an old notebook that belonged to my Dad.  I haven't started it yet, as I've been gathering together supplies to give the whole thing a cohesive feel.  In the meantime I had a little play with a possible page style.

Using Tim's stamp, of course and Distress Inks in Gathered Twigs and Dusty Concord on Studio Calico Heyday Crush paper.  The little border along the side is a Jenni Bowlin torn paper stamp and I've added some Tim Holtz Chit Chat words in the same style as the words on the leaf stamp.

I think this page will make it into the notebook and I will do other 6x4 cards to stick in as well as whole pages worked directly onto the actual book.  Or maybe it might end up a tied mini book.

I mixed up some coloured texture paste for the mini canvas and then decided the look was too heavy.  I ended up covering 4 cards in different background styles with it, so it looks like I have plenty to be working on!!
