WOYWW #136 and the wonder of nature

It's Wednesday everybody, just in case you weren't sure.  That means it's share you workdesk time over at Julia's Stamping Ground.  Here is my desk piled high!!

I could claim it was a before photo, but I've tried that one too many times already.  It is now in a sort of L shape with the cabinet on the left planned to be my die-cutting station.  I find I don't die-cut as much as I would like because the machine and dies aren't accessible (don't even talk to me about the electronic cutter stuck in the bottom of the wardrobe).  The dies and embossing folders are in a pile at the back on the right (in the little bag with the choco cow in a cowboy hat), they kind of need to come together with the machine for the process to work!  So I keep on plugging at it, but the only way forward I can see is to be ruthless with it all.  The little bits of paper and magazine freebies that I just don't use have got to go.

On the subject of magazines I am being ruthless with them too, apart from Craft Stamper, I'm not buying any monthly, just when I feel like one and the look of it really appeals to me.

Now for the garden, where there's not much doing apart from my patio rose.
It's flowered all through Christmas and the new year, which it doesn't usually.  I have heard that hard frosts and proper winter weather are on their way for the end of the week, so I felt the need to capture on camera this little bit of beauty that has brighten up my view as I look out of the kitchen each day.
There's even a little bud still nestled in there, hope it survives.

I think your die-cutting station has lots of potential!! You seem to have a good base for organizing your supplies, so I think it'll turn out really nice in the end!! :)

Oh my goodness, I have similar problems, but I am currently working hard at keeping a space clear. (Actually I've moved to the dining table and put all the stuff in use into the washing basket so the desk isn't clear)!

Ah, I've been at the same magazine stage for some time now, and it's done me no harm and worse, I don't feel I've missed much! Your craf space appears to me to be growing...is that a good thing! I Won't talk to you about electronic cutters and the accessibility thereof....mines in a similar situation..guilt guilt!

Hello Kate!

Thanks for stopping by! I had to link up at 12:30 a.m (actually I woke up so decided to do it to see what number I'd be!).

I hadn't thought of a container to keep all my dies and embossing folders together - but that is definitely a good idea. Keep it all together!

Your desk is a well used and well LOVED desk -- no neglect here!!!

Hugs,
Kay

Clear the old mags - you'll feel better for it! I only get one mag a month now, they all say the same thing anyway :)
I love that beautiful rose, surviving against the odds. Is it in a pot? Can you bring it inside while the weather returns to proper winter?? I do hope so...
Hugs, LLJ #26 xx

What a beautiful little rose - its so cheery to see a bit of colour through the winter.
I know what you mean about not using the di cutter when it's not accessible. I moved mine about 2 months ago and I've found it much less stressful nowthat it has a place and although it still goes away on a shelf it is at an easy height with lots of space so I don't get all in a muddle!! Love your little rose!! TFS Cindy @ # 52

Beautiful flowers! We have had usually warm weather too and I love it but it is hard on the allergies as everything is still blooming merrily away.

Behind my desk is a narrow cabinet and a table. I was going to keep the paper cutter on top of the cabinet and move it to the table when I needed to cut (since paper would fall to the floor once cut if I cut while on the cabinet). I did that about twice and now the paper cutter lives on the table. Now I am thinking of turning the cabinet top into the die cutting station. Like you I think I would use it more if it were readily accessible. But first.... I have to clean off a huge pile of MAGAZINES!

Does this sound familiar? I am thinking that I need to cut down on magazines and even purge some of the ones I have... but it is so hard. They all have something inspiring in them!
I'm seeing how many I can get round this way.then when I have finished I'll come back again, that is if I can STOP reading all the posts first Happy WOYWW

Your desk always makes me smile Kate as I can't imagine where you craft! I was ruthless a couple of months ago with the intention of passing a box onto a local charity but I gradually pinched things back from it over the weeks and now I don't want to get rid of anything... just in case! The shop in the Forest was a real Alladin's cave but some lovely papers from people other than Papermania which makes a nice change.
