By The Cute And Girly ~ March
It's March and spring is in the air. I can't believe winter is over, or maybe I shouldn't say that too loudly.
This month the challenge at By The Cute And Girly has been set by Geraldine and it's 'In The Kitchen.' Here' what she has to say about her choice of theme:
Hi Everybody! For March I have chosen "In the Kitchen" as the theme. Whether it is big or small the kitchen is the heart of the home and the place where family and friends gather to eat, drink and relax. So this month's crafty projects can be inspired by/feature baking, cooking, eating, drinking, anything at all to do with food and kitchen activities such as entertaining and celebrating.
Our digi sponsor for the month is Spesch Stamps and I have chosen their Alice image for my shadow box project and coloured her with Copics in light shades so that she stands out from my background.
The box came from Paperchase with some Christmas decorations in it. I've painted it with gesso and then a thin layer of Claudine Hellmuth Classic Teal paint. The inside paper has been coated with the same paint with a bit of Trad Tan spread over the top. It's then been inked with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink through sequin waste and had some tan paint circles added. Lastly there are some random flower stalks stamped along the bottom with Prima stamps.
For the rest of the decorations I've used a tea cup stamp that was free with Craft Stamper and decorated that with Papermania Bird Song stamps. The little bottle and label are both from Tim Holtz range and I've written on it and the jewellery tag by hand.
The flower on the corner is a MME Laundry Line stamp on card coloured with Peeled Paint Distress Stain. For the centre I've added a Tim Holtz metal flower. The leaves are cut from Grunge Paper using a Sizzix die.
Here is the full list of this month's sponsors:
Let's see your foody creations, share them with us over at the challenge blog.
One last thing, I can't resist entering my project over at ICopic for this week's challenge #71 - Anything but a card.
