William Blake
A quote of William Blake's from Auguries Of Innocence is one of my favourites of the moment and I decided to feature it on a canvas.
The canvas had been lying around my workspace for a while having been abandoned after a previous project failed. I had completely covered it in black gesso and then put it to one side to await inspiration. A combination of things made the inspiration finally happen. I had seen a few canvas demo videos from CHA, plus I had stamped out the filled jar from the Artistic Stamper set, that I previously mentioned here, but hadn't used the image.
The front of the canvas has been covered with torn pieces of Prima paper and then had Claudine Hellmuth Classic Teal paint scraped over the top of it. I used a baby wipe to dab at the paint and remove it enough to let some of the images from the paper show through. A technique I had seen in a video demo here.
Trad Tan and Modern Red paint were then used to decorate the surface some more. Once all that was dry I was ready to stamp on top with a selection of stamps from the latest Pink Paislee offering London Market.
For the lettering I have used Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers and then generated any missing words on the PC, they are all edged with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink (a very messy job!) For the finishing touch I have used 3 different mists - Meadow Green Glimmer Mist, Perfect Pearls in Perfect Pearl and dots of Mister Huey in White. I then highlighted a few areas with white gel pen and added a bit of doodling.
Then it was on to the jar. I decorated the lid area and any unfilled glass with Distress Inks and then pained the contents with Heffalump Glimmer Glam. before this dried it was sprinkled with orange glitter. Once that layer was dried I coated all the 'glass' with Glossy Accents.
Challenges:
Sunday Stamper #196 - Misty
Simon Says Stamp And Show - Anything goes
Really enjoyed getting messy and making this one, now for the clearing up!
