Daring Card Makers
It's Friday and I am back blogging. Fingers crossed as my browser went on strike and hasn't allowed me to blog, visit, comment, search, which turns out to be at least 50% of my life! I've also had lots of lovely new visitors and now that things seem to be on an even keel I hope to come visiting for a cuppa and a biccie.
Especially good news is that the Daring Card Makers team have asked me to stay on as a Guest Designer for another month. As it's the 1st Friday of the month that means a colour challenge and Sharon has organised a beautiful Autumn palette for us. I've used a sketch from the Sugar Bowl's Autumn challenge #93 as additional inspiration for my card.
Here's the colour palette for comparison:
I knew I wanted to use the lovely Autumn stamp set that I'd bought earlier in the year and been hoarding waiting for the seasons to change. Next I chose the Copic colours I thought went best with the challenge. The range of Copics I have to choose from is far less than the amount of papers I own, so I thought that was the best way to go. Here's my selection.
In the final edit I don't think I used the light orange and I brought a little blue into the colouring as it just felt right. Before I started the colouring I also chose the papers from American Crafts Peachy Keen plus a bit of MME woodgrain paper from one of the Miss Caroline pads.
Next came the colouring and I added a few extra shades of brown to the original pen selection.
The little acorn was among the charms in my jewellery kit and juts had to be included, hung from a piece of the Peachy Keen ribbon. The 'hello there' bubble sticker was part of a metal charm, but it was just too big for the card so I pulled the sticky bit off and used it on its own.
