Wellness Words Jewellery Challenge
When I found Tracy's blog 'Make Bracelets' and discovered her plans for a Wellness Words Jewellery Challenge I just had to join in. Her challenge was for each participant to choose a powerful word or phrase which holds personal meaning for them and incorporate it into a jewellery design.
I loved the idea, but also knew exactly the charm I wanted to base my design on, so there's a little story behind my necklace designed especially for today.
When I applied for a position on the Blue Moon Beads design team I never really thought I would be in with a chance. I went ahead and entered anyway and I still can't believe I was one of the lucky designers chosen. Along the way I decided I needed a few extra beads and charms to use on my submission and I came across some beautiful charms with little engraved phrases on. There was no need for further deliberation, I had to have them.
I chose the 'Be Yourself' charm for this necklace and added to it hearts and butterflies as they are lovely happy 'me' images that I use on a lot of projects. There's also shots of colour in orange and purple, two of my favourites. In all, it's an uplifting piece that reminds me, no matter what anyone else thinks, I am happiest if I just be myself.
But, there's another part to the story for which I need to take you back to that original submission project. That's because I feel that 'Be Yourself' is one of the most important messages I can't give to my children too. When I first saw the charms this decorative frame design for my daughter formed in my mind.
The three charms together say 'Be Yourself, Laugh Often, Love Much.' In the little frames at the top are pictures of each of her brothers.
Thanks for taking the trouble to stop by my blog today, your visit is appreciated. If you'd like to see more healthy, inspirational jewellery then here is a list of all the challenge participants.
Visit one or visit many, but what ever you do, have a lovely weekend.
